Fatty acid composition, phytochemicals and antioxidant potential of Capparis spinosa sedes

The present study evaluates the contents in bioactive compounds, antioxidant activity, oil content and fatty acid composition of Capparis spinosa seeds. Samples were collected from 5 different habitats (AH: Ahar; KU: Kurdistan; U1, U2 U3: Urmia) Iran. seeds ranged 16 to 27%. predominant was linoleic (45-50%) followed by oleic (30-39%), palmitic (2-8%) stearic (2-3%). Total phenolic (TPC) varied 16.3 24.2 mg GAE/ g DW; total flavonoid (TFC) 1.48 3.05 QE/g activity (DPPH assay) between 35 63%. compounds obtained genotypes C. had compositions, great capacity unsaturated acids, therefore could be a prospective source natural molecules for food health industry.
